Calling Paul McCobb Miniatures

Hi Everyone,

I know that you modernists and retro modernists must remember at least a year ago (probably more like a year and a half to two years ago) there were some absolutely wonderful Paul McCobb miniatures that were listed on Ebay.  They were fabulous midcentury modern replicas of his 1:1 work that he used on various projects.

I am looking for pictures of any those items that were listed.  I know I have seen some on someone's blog, but I can't remember who.

The reason being that there was a nice article in the current Atomic Ranch Magazine that highlighted Paul McCobb's work.  I thought it would be fun to write to Atomic Ranch with some info about the fabulous miniatures.

If anyone has any of those pictures, may I PLEASE borrow them to send to Atomic Ranch?  I will most certainly give credit to the owner(s) of the pictures.

Thanks!!!!!

Duh!  It was Paul MacAllister, not McCobb!

    3. No wonder I couldn't find anything in my search. I thought it might be Megan, that explains why I couldn't find anything about Paul McCobb on her blog...Duh!

  2. Like Modern MC, I think you may be thinking of Paul MacAlister miniatures, not McCobb. Megan does have some, and I won some as well during the eBay auctions of the 1:12 and 1:24 scale pieces. My posts are here: http://call-small.blogspot.com/search/label/Paul%20MacAlister. I LOVE Atomic Ranch and have a subscription, but they are not open to miniature pitches -- I tried pitching a story two years ago to the editor, and she said pretty clearly that such a story would not appeal to their readership. I know Maryann Roy (Welcome Home blog) has tried as well, with no luck. And she's advertised in the mag, too!

    1. Mary Ann had an ad in the back of the magazine last year. I have the issue. Thanks for the info. Oh well, just trying to promote the art...

  4. I copied all of the photos of the items sold on ebay by the two sellers that purchased them from his estate sale. To me it was amazing that these were all from his personal collection and have likely been stored for 30+ years, a collectors dream. I don't know who bought all of them, but I know there are 3 people that outbid my on several items, so at least 3 of you out there have some 4-5 lots of Paul MacAlister's work. I really wish I would have bid more. Hindsight. Here are my 6 posts cataloging his collection.

I do have some paperwork on Paul that one of the sellers sent me, but I misplaced it during our move and have to find it again, will post it eventually.

It would be cool to get Atomic Ranch interested, it would be up their alley. :)
